OSSYNTHS soundsystems
sounds for models of trains and machinery and more
The Shadow Distributor contains 4 or 8 sound channels. Each of these consists of a fader and an amplifier. On the command of sensors in the track these faders come up or fade out. Clever positioning of these sensors make the sound move with the train in a very natural manner.
The Distributor can eventually be fed by two Feeders to run two trains at the same time. The system must then recieve commands from a cab control system, special prints can be made to make the wiring to the existing cab control easier.
One of the channels can also be used as a subwoofer channel, assisting the others with its better low frequency reproduction. As a result of this, the loudspeakers under the layout can have a modest diameter and that eases construction.
One detachable cable connects the Distributor to a print that is mounted under the layout. On this print the connectors for the loudspeakers and the sensors are found.
Most of the connections are made up with band cable and press-cut connectors as used in the computer industry. This means that the wiring can be built up quickly and soldering is kept to a minimum.
