Steam

The steam systems have the following standard features:

*synchronized chuff

*whistle

*bell

*steam blow off

*cylinder cocks

*brake squeal

*advanced regulator with loco card

 

on demand the following can be added:

*choice of 4 whistles

*wheels option: the sound of  rolling wheels is automatically played when the train moves. It can be switched between: only loco or loco + train.

*generator sound

*choice of pumps

*fader

 

For the synchronized chuff the loco must be equiped with a cam. OSSYNTHS designed a special contactless magnetic cam, the OSSYNTHS Sync Disc. It is available from OSSYNTHS and EDM Models.

Where a cam cannot be fitted, for instance on Shays with a difficult gear combination, a special advanced electronic circuit can be fitted to keep the chuff as near as possible to sync.

 

The optional choice of whistle is stored on the loco card.

 

Whistle, bell, blow off, cyl. cocks and brake squeal are operated from the WA by means of push buttons and switches.

The same applies for wheels, generator and pump.

 

Wheels, generator and pumps are played by a built in WAV player or by an external Mp3 or CD player. The samples have a duration of one hour but they can play all day when the "repeat one" function on the player is activated.
